In some rare cases, orders may come through without pickup point details. This can happen due to various reasons, such as the pickup point selection failing to load because of a poor internet connection or when payment is made via express checkouts.
Until now, our only solution was to display the pickup point selection on the Thank you page. However, this wasn’t a foolproof solution as buyers could close the page before selecting a pickup point.
Today, we are introducing checkout blocking, powered by Shopify Functions. This new feature works by preventing checkouts with pickup point shipping methods and missing pickup point details from being processed at the Shopify server level, which is a more effective solution.
To enable this feature, simply go to app settings, and check Block orders with missing pickup point
