There are two ways to test Atlas Pickup Points before going live: a development store with our Free Developer Plan (recommended), or a gated setup on your live store.
#Development stores (recommended)
We recommend testing on a Shopify development store. Development stores let you place test orders without real payments and without affecting live buyers.
Atlas Pickup Points is free on development and staging stores. Contact us with your store address (your-store.myshopify.com) and we will activate the Free Developer Plan for you.
#Testing on a live store
If you need to test on your live store (for example, to verify your fulfillment setup with real order data), configure the pickup point shipping option so buyers won’t see or choose it:
- Gate the shipping option behind a condition buyers won’t reach. In Shopify Admin → Settings → Shipping and delivery, add a condition to the shipping option assigned to your pickup point configuration, such as a minimum order value of €10,000. The option only appears for carts that meet the condition, so you can trigger it deliberately with a high-value test cart.
- Or set a very high price on the shipping option. Buyers see the option but won’t choose it. Use this variant only if the condition-based approach doesn’t fit your setup, since the option remains visible in checkout.
Then place a test order that meets the condition and verify:
- The pickup point selection appears in checkout (or on the Thank you page, depending on your plan).
- The selected pickup point is visible on the order in Shopify Admin.
- Your fulfillment software receives the pickup point data. See How to get pickup point data into my fulfillment software.
Once everything works, remove the condition (or restore the real price) to go live.
